Things to do in the West End
The West End is London's theatre and shopping district, covering Covent Garden, Soho, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Street. Most visitors come for a show: a West End ticket runs roughly £25-£150 depending on seat and title, and popular musicals sell out days ahead in summer (June to August) and around Christmas.
The TKTS booth on Leicester Square sells same-day and next-day tickets for unsold seats, often at 25-50% off face value, but the best-known titles rarely appear there. Oxford Street itself is mostly chain shopping and gets crowded fast; Covent Garden's market and Seven Dials nearby reward more browsing time.
Allow at least a full evening for a show plus a meal beforehand.
